October Update

Buster has been growing so quickly! At his 7 month birthday he's just over 100 lbs!

We've taken his out to the ranch a few times and he loves it. We can't wait to get him out there full time!

He's also settling down a little bit - not biting as much but has developed a bark, especially when someone's on the phone or eating. He and Carsten have a strong bond and Buster lets him crawl all over him.

5 months

Buster will be 5 months tomorrow. He's MUCH bigger than when we first met him. I'm sure he's well over 70 lbs. I guess we'll find out at his vet appointment on Thursday. Here are some pictures of Buster and the kids. Carsten has given him the name of WhoaWa. It's starting to stick!

 Favorites:

• Place to be: on Todd's lap. (As high up as possible) We are wondering when he's going to figure out he's not a lap dog or when he'll be too heavy for Todd's lap.
• Thing to do: steal food from the kids and sleep. (tie)
• Gets excited when: he hears the leash.
• Tricks: sit, high five, and lay down
• Favorite trouble to get into: tearing up toilet paper.

 Buster is becoming more protective and can often be found in front of a sleeping child's door. He like to play with the kids but tends knock them down because of his size. We are waiting for the kids to get bigger or for him to figure out how to be more gentle. Overall he's a good dog and we are happy to have him as a part of our family.

Week 11

Buster's been having fun playing with the kids. He seems to be housebroken already! He took his first walk to the park. At 6pm it was still a little too hot to be out. Here are some pictures from the week.

Hello!

I've been welcomed in to my new family. They are so happy to have me! It took me no time at all to get adjusted. I love playing with Cambria and Carsten.

The owners of my mother, Grace, we very nice to let me go to my new family. I'm sure I'll see them again since they aren't too far away.

Here's a little about me. My new name is Buster and I'm 10 weeks old today. There were many suggestions made by all but especially Cambria. The one that has stuck the longest was Popeye. I'm a Boerboel or South African Mastiff and I weigh about 30 pounds. My mother is from South Africa and her father weighed in at about 200 lbs. I think I'll be pretty big when I'm grown.

A few things:

• My favorite place to sleep is on Daddy's lap. I wonder how long it will take to outgrow that! My second favorite place is on the floor next to Daddy's chair.
• I'm close to being housebroken already.
• I sleep until the kids wake me up in the morning.
• I'm having fun chasing and playing with the kids. I even make Cambria scream!
• I love playing outside on the grass. I get lots of hugs and have lots of toys to play with.
